Two! Two! TWO!!!!

Nya’s 2 years old! She’s sweet, assertive, persistent, smart and spunky! I can hardly believe my baby girl is not a baby anymore. She’s growing and learning by leaps and bounds. It still amazes me how much people learn in the first two years of their life and still be just 33 inches tall!!

Here is where Nya is at on her 2nd birthday…

She’s talking quite a bit, saying some 3-4 word sentence fragments and is all over saying two words at a time. She’ll pretty much repeat almost anything you say.

Some of my favorite ways she says things:
“How me?” --> don’t forget about me, used in a variety of situations
“fwiper, dop fwiping, GASP” --> Swiper stop swiping. Courtesy of Dora the Explorer
“bootsie”--> Boots. Again, thank you Dora
“do it, DO IT” --> do not even think of helping me
“Your XXXX, My XXXX” --> self explanatory, but so cute and she uses it correctly A LOT these days
“Shake your booty” --> sighhhh, yes this is sung with a booty shake to go along with it.
“Happened?” --> What happened, with a cute little shoulder shrug
She’s also rocking out on counting and will count up to 10 in English and knows all the numbers from 1-10 in Spanish, but mixes them up.
She loves to read but often times will steal the book away from the reader so she can be in control and read it herself. Once again, you don’t cross Miss Nya’s path.

Nya is becoming quite the jumper and hop, hops, hops all around the house and on the beds. She is obsessed with Dora and Diego and actually uses some Spanish phrases she hears from the show. She loves daddy’s iPad, knows almost all of her animals and I think she knows a couple of colors. It could be a fluke but she’s picked out yellow and purple a couple of times.

I think the thing that makes Corey and I laugh the most is that Nya is so full of spunk. She is teasing and she does stuff that cracks all of us up and herself. She’s also pretty stubborn and persistent. It’s a challenge to get her to sway from her own agenda, BUT I think this will serve her well in the future.

Happy Birthday Miss Nya. You make all of us sooo proud!
